Stud Earrings

A stud sits on the lobe rather than falling from it, which is what makes it the earring for every day. Neither Solise stud is a dot. Rosée draws a teardrop in a single wire around a pocket of air, and Galet hollows the outline of a river stone into one continuous, free-form ribbon. Each comes in rhodium-finished 930 sterling silver or 2.5-micron gold vermeil.

Rosée and Galet, side by side

Rosée

A hollow teardrop

Named after the French word for morning dew: a single drop of water, held in the moment before it falls.

  • A teardrop drawn in one wire rather than cast solid, so the drop is made of the air it holds.
  • Light, sleek and modern: worn all day without ever asking for your attention.
  • Sits tight and clean at the lobe, set just forward of it to frame the jawline without swinging.

Galet

A free-form open frame

Named after the sea pebbles of the French coast, smoothed by water into shapes no hand would draw.

  • One continuous, asymmetric contour that rises and falls gently as it goes round, with no straight line or corner anywhere on it.
  • The post is set high on the top curve, so the lower loop appears to float just below the lobe.
  • Architectural enough to be the only piece you wear, in the proportions of an everyday stud.

How to wear a sculptural stud

A stud is the most forgiving shape in jewellery. It sits close, it does not swing, and it suits hair up or down, a working day or an evening, without asking you to dress around it.

Choose by presence. Rosée is the lighter and quieter of the two, a line drawn around air. Galet is wider and reads as a statement from across a room.

A sculptural stud carries a look on its own. Worn alone it is finished; beside a climber or a hoop on the same ear, keep the other piece small and still.

The metals

Silver, or gold vermeil

Every piece is 930 sterling silver, above the 925 standard, nickel-free and hypoallergenic. The silver is finished in rhodium; the vermeil is 2.5 microns of gold over the same sterling. How each one wears, and how to keep it, is written out in full.
